We arrived the afternoon after Christmas (yesterday) from Hawaii. The climate change is dramatic but not too bad. I love the "real" trees and the dogs are enjoying the woods with no mongooses nor spikey thorns underfoot.

We are in an extended stay hotel until we figure out what's what.

Folks is a great place to eat.

I ran into a lady with similar interests today who is also a mortgage broker. Gotta keep in touch with her!

Life is good!! (especially since I am no longer on an airplane with 2 dogs and a cat)

btw, we got here with said pets and 2 suitcases apiece. Quite minimal!

Just a temp place so far, JC. We're going to start searching for our place. My work is in Decatur but we'd like to be out a ways and MAYBE (if we're extremely lucky) find a foreclosure with enough space for a horse (which seems to be 4 acres-ish)

THANKS for the welcome!!

Since you will be working on the Eastside I suggest you find somewhere to stay out in this area. Check out Stone Mountain or Snellville if you are looking for more space. I can't speak on your commute, but I know there is plenty of growing area out that way. You also have more space southeast in rural parts of Dekalb county. Welcome to ATL.

Welcome! My cat can't even handle a 5 minute drive to the vet, couldn't imagine having to deal with that on a plane.

Why do you say this? Those areas are sort of what w were thinking. There are obvious pockets of decline with vacant retail space etc. south east Dekalb ? No kids. Not at home anyway.

There's a lot of great equestrian country out around Snellville.
