if you guys want details i went to the meeting tonight. traffic was horrible on my way to class and i missed it, so i went to the DRC meeting instead.

the architectural style is very similar to one of the earlier drafts of 1138 peachtree. note, this is NOT the proposal, i'm just saying it reminded me of this:

it had very much a 60s mod type vibe to the architecture, even moreso than the example above. i thought it was very cool, and i'm a very aesthetic person who doesn't like a whole lot when it comes to modern architecture.

now for the details. it's essentially a combination parking deck and building, with the parking deck at the corner of 6th and peachtree, and the tower partially over the parking deck at the south end of the property.

now, you might say that sounds like s#!t, but i was actually pretty impressed— the parking deck has retail all along the bottom floor, including on 6th and on peachtree. in addition, the parking deck doesn't look like a parking deck at all. they commisioned an artist to create a really interesting way to disguise the parking deck. it reminded me of the 285 marietta development (times square south)— it looked like the part of the building that has the giant LED screen on it, except instead of an LED screen, it's a really artistic looking wall covering/vent for the parking deck that covers two sides. it looks like an organic part of the building. the lobby will be at the southernmost portion of the property that fronts peachtree. i imagine it will probably be lit rather than just in shadow.

I can dig it!

Looks like it'll be a great addition to the skyline.

Much better than a stand-alone parking deck. A great example of parking deck, infused building is 1075 Peachtree in the 12th and Peachtree development.

Awesome. That stretch of Peachtree is really filling in. What surface lots remain along Peachtree in Midtown? 4? ( Between 7th and 8th. Behind those clubs at 10th. The one for the next phase of 1010. The one north of the Fox. )
