I'm assuming you've got no problem with this government authority being able to circumvent the highest/best stipulations of the bid process because you are intrigued by what they might do, even after repeatedly pointing out that one bidder (who you clearly don't like) didn't put down sufficient ernest money. Do all bidders need to follow the same set of rules, or just the ones you don't want to see succeed? Just seems a little hypocritical to try and disqualify and discredit one bidder for not abiding by an ernest money requirement, while giving the state a pass for not honoring the highest/best bids.
I am not favoring the Land Band Authority, just delivering news on the proposals. Yes, I liked what I heard from Councilmember Archibong about the land bank authority, but this is not up to me, you, or anyone on CD. We just have to wait.

At least Atomic Entertainment reveals their plans
Quote:
Atomic’s arts-and-entertainment district idea calls for an affordable-housing component—to include short-term rentals for people in the movie and film industry—alongside other residences, retail options (emphasis on restaurants and bars), and offices alongside digital incubator, live performance, and film space. Only one building on the 27 acres would be reserved for what might be called a stage, Rosenfelt said.

More information per the sudden interest from Fulton County/City of Atlanta Land Bank Authority
Quote:
Since Councilmember Archibong broke the news last night at the KNO meeting, we belive it's now appropriate to disclose our relationship with the Fulton County / City of Atlanta Land Bank Authority. Because the mission of the Land Bank is to restore vacant, abandoned or tax-foreclosed property to productive use that benefits the city, county, and state, the redevelopment of Pullman Yard fits within that mission.

We have been in discussions for a public/private partnership with the Land Bank regarding the potential purchase of Pullman Yard for over 3 years, when the State first informed the neighborhood that any future sale would not include protection of the historic structures. Our partnership with the Land Bank was only just able to result in a formal offer to the State for the purchase of the property before the bid deadline, and ideally would have been presented many months ago.

Our relationship was built on the foundation that historic preservation, community engagement, job creation, and affordability are vital in any redevelopment of Pullman Yard. This potential relationship was also the reason we requested, and received, formal endorsement for our proposal from KNO and NPU-O over 2 years ago.

Under the current agreement, we would manage the environmental remediation, zoning entitlement, and master development process for the site. The vacant land on the southern portion would be sold to a third party under an RFP process with community input, and the proceeds from the sale would help offset the costs to remediate, rehabilitate, and preserve the historic structures onsite.

Our group would then be responsible for managing the construction & development process for the buildings based on a design similar to the renderings you've seen here, as well as ensuring the placement of all contributing structures on the National Register of Historic Places. When this process is complete, the Land Bank would sell the remaining property titled in their name under another RFP, also with community input.

We believe this process and our public/private partnership creates the best opportunity for achieving optimal use for the property in the best interest of our neighbors, our city, and our state for generations to come. We look forward to collaborating with any and all interested stakeholders who share this commitment.

SO it's now official. The fix is in. Its plain as day if you open your eyes. The esteemed councilwoman Archibong should change her name to Archipawn.

The Fulton County Landbank is the City of Atlanta. It is run by Holland and Knight (the Mayors old law firm) and the same law firm the fired procurement officer for the city of Atlanta, Adam Smith was from. That same Adam Smith is also the Senior Trustee of Friendship Baptist Church, who negotiated with himself, over selling their land to city for the Falcons deal. Ever wonder why the stadium wound up where it did? Follow the money. This is your government at its best. It just goes round and round.

If you are a bidder on this project you can forget about it. Its over. Atomic Entertainment? Your done. Fabric? your clueless. JoJo...your done..you can go home now. Pope and Land( which is merely a front for Jeff Fuqua) its over but you will get plenty more chances to rape the public commons in the future dont worry. To Pratt-Pullman LLC you are the winner. Great going guys.....use the government to **** the private sector. Some things never change.

And for anyone who thinks the buildings would be torn down by a developer.....you dont have a clue what is going on. Nobody was going to tear down the buildings. It was all a front to make you think your opinion matters. They are a huge asset. Only some simple minded buffoon who has no concept of reality would think that way. Ill let you in on something YOU WERE BEING USED......The REASON the state took off the restrictions on the property was so the Mayor could allow his people to steal it.
You can believe it or not...I could care less... but what you are going to get will resemble a Turner Field deal. The land bank will select one master developer (pick a name ..it will be a big contributor to Mayor Reed..its the cast of usual suspects) and they will scoop up any profit..and put the rest out to the low bidder.
So the neighborhood thinks they are going to win? Lemme ask you this...when is the last time the government "let you win". Its always about the money. One thing you can be 100% sure of and that it will contain plenty of affordable housing...except it wont be open to you......because you dont matter.

Give the community more local control and feedback in what is developed. Also, this will 100% ensure the historic structures are protected, something the state was not doing. As a local resident I am very happy with this latest news.

As a resident living next to the property, highly involved in KNO and NPU-O; I KNOW what is going on.

I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens, as citizens have no influence over who wins the bid.
