The article never mentions it, but it's probably because of the state's big tax break. Basically you could lease the car and receive a large tax deduction that paid for the year's lease...i think.

Good! Looks like Atlantans aren't ALL about SUV's and minivans after all. Since the article said "region" and "Bay Area" so much, I must assume they mean metropolitan area. That's excellent that so many in the metro are willing to adopt this technology. Atlanta's air pollution problems could be greatly helped if more can afford to adopt this. I'm behind this technology 100% but it's still not very affordable. I'm hoping the day will come when Tesla will be a household name like Chevy, Ford, or Toyota.

Scrolling down, I read the linked article about the startup battery company to supply electric vehicles. Atlanta needs to fight hard to establish this industry here. Atlanta needs to be strong in high-tech industries. Working together with Ga. Tech they can achieve it.
