Is there any updated news about NCR moving downtown? I did see a small snippet in the Atlanta Business Chronicle that they expressed some interest in a new office tower to be built at the Avalon in Alpharetta.

It began to slow in the 1990's and 2000's and now has fallen behind Fulton. I understand the county has filled up a lot and that Forsyth is now leading the growth percentage wise but Gwinnett could sustain much stronger growth. I think it has to do with the relative lack of colleges and universities in Gwinnett. A lot of growth now wants to be practically next door to a college. This is where Cobb and Fulton hold a massive advantage over Gwinnett.
No, it has nothing to do with that. Gwinnett boomed in the 1980s because it had great high schools and elementary schools, but now those schools are deteriorating so there isn't much reason to live out there any more.

Why don't they just fix them up? Gwinnett schools aren't that old.

For that matter, many older schools are just fine.

I think roadtrip75 was referring to the quality of the schools and not necessarily the physical infrastructure.

I LOVE historic school buildings...they can be just as nice as newer buildings if they are renovated and actually have some character - unlike the newer/institutional style buildings.

Someone on another site said he works for NCR and that the CEO made an announcement that the company will be moving to Midtown. The new headquarters will be a campus style development located in between the two new students towers going up on Spring Street and will be completed sometime in 2018
