Does anyone really need much assistance choosing apple products? I mean, it's not like there's a laundry list of options for their highest volume product lines (iPad, iPhone, Macbook). It's a pretty streamlined product offering compared to competitors.

What? What does needing assistance or help choosing a product have to do with anything. Most people don't need either of those and go to Apple stores, but I don't think that was the intention of your comment....

Perhaps they determined that there were more folks with more money to spend on high-end consumer items in East Cobb than in the O4W. Just my guess.

Quite the contrary, Cumberland Mall has recently added a Michael Kors and a Sephora. In addition, the mall has longer term tenants like White House/Black Market, Chico's, and H&M. The restaurant row on the Cobb Parkway side includes The Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano's Little Italy, Ted's Montana Grill and Stoney River Steaks. This is hardly the lineup of a mall that is "kind of dying."

The Macy's at Cumberland has undergone an extensive renovation and while it is certainly not as high end as Lenox and Perimeter, the store definitely has a better assortment of brands than it did previously.

People forget that some of the wealthiest census tracts in Metro Atlanta, specifically the far western part of Buckhead and Vinings are closer to Cumberland than any other mall. In addition, Smyrna and parts of East Cobb which are reasonably close provide a pretty good base to draw from for this mall.

Cobb county has no Apple stores, the city of Atlanta already has the region's largest at Lenox Square. The logic isn't hard to follow.

Cumberland is booming since they added PF Changs, Cheesecake factory, Maggianos, etc. Definitely nowhere near dying...I hate even going in there because it's so crowded now.
