If it took more than ten years to build the first six miles, and those were the easiest miles to build. 30 years is extremely optimistic. I doubt most of us will be alive long enough to see transit making the circle.
Are you including the Northside Trail thru Tanyard Creek Park to Bobby Jones GC. https://beltline.org/trails/northside-trail/

No. I don't include spur trails. I'm talking about the loop. Spur trails are nice, but they do nothing towards completion of the loop.

The Northside trail is definitely part of the main loop and not a side trail:

https://beltlineorg-wpengine.netdna-...re-Updated.pdf

Note the color coding for main and side trails. The rail and trail will not be next to each other on that stretch

However, the point that less then half the loop has been finished is true. The Northside loop only adds 1.5 to the total

Indeed...I was mistaken. Still, maybe a third done at most. Not close to half. And I am very interested in seeing how they plan to connect that part of the trail through where they show their green dotted lines. Short of buying some buildings...there are a lot of obstacles.

I guess I envisioned the Beltline being a cohesive loop with walking and transit together on mostly-separated ROW. That was probably a little optimistic.

I mean, it is for the most part. Waterworks to Lindbergh is the only section that's really separated, and even then the separation isn't very far. Given that that's the only section of still-active rail corridor, it makes sense that that's the problem area. If it were abandoned, then it would be built with both path and transit in the same corridor.

That section is ~20% of the total BeltLine, and, especially along the Peachtree Creek bit, is actually nearly back with the transit.

The trail will use Bennett St and Peachtree Park Dr, all the way to across the creek, from where it currently ends at Colonial Homes Cir. Then I'm not sure exactly what it's going to look like along the creek.

Another thing I'm not sure, is how they plan to get both transit and the trail through this small tunnel under I-85:

I guess the light rail in each direction will have to share the same track through there? Seems dangerous.

Also, I know the trail will take a sharp immediate right after that tunnel, and run between Mayson St and the I-85 wall, but then I'm not sure what the heck happens when it gets to Plasters Avenue:

Are they going to close that little street for cars, and turn it into the trail? And where is the transit going to go?

That area has not been designed yet. I have seen proposals for light rail using Piedmont as well as sharing tracks with Clifton corridor.
