Several months ago I thought Ponce City Market was the most transformative mixed-use project going, but I'm starting to believe it's Buckhead Atlanta. PCM is still my favorite, but the ever more impressive list of tenants coming to BA is going to put Atlanta on a level of retail and fashion it hasn't been before.

With the rapid rise of residential towers in and around Technology Square, it may have to be added to the battle. In addition to the current set of restaurants and retail on Fifth Street, the retail space in the towers going up/ planned in the area promise yet another walkable development in Midtown complete with MARTA accessibility , Georgia Tech trolley service and a supermarket. It will be interesting to see what types of retail and restaurants join the mix.

I like the way mixed use projects have been woven into the community rather than being separate islands.

Well I think that the thread was focused on projects that will open this year but there is no question that Tech Square had nothing short of a game-changer for that part of Midtown. Here is a link to the state of the area prior to construction of the first phases.
