^ the area around Five Points station is such a dump. Transforming it, to either Vegas or "Jamestown" won't be easy, i.e. probably doomed to failure.

So was the area around PCM a few years ago.
So was the area where Centennial Park currently sits.
So was what is now Cabbagetown Park.
So was Glenwood Park.
So was the Krog Market area.
So was the entirety of Marietta Street and most of the Westside.
So was Edgewood Avenue.
So was Edgewood Retail District.
So was Atlantic Station.
So was EAV.
So was Downtown Decatur in the '80s.
So was downtown Avondale Estates until recently.

It's going to require a commitment to upkeep. The stretch from Five Points station to Marietta Street is an embarrassment.
