Cumberland Mall has a Cheesecake Factory too. You'd think Lenox could offer something a little more interesting than the malls in the suburbs.
Buckhead is not very different from the burbs.

Buckhead is Tysons Corner, only within the city limits. The core of Buckhead will be an urban node but I doubt Lenox and Phipps will ever go anywhere and will always maintain an island of suburban surface lots within it. I've never eaten at Cheesecake Factory.

People love to bash the Cheesecake factory but they make a ton of money. Don't go there myself but it's hard to argue with success.

Please explain. I live in the burbs and consider them nothing alike.

What is there to explain? Malls are suburban in nature.

Buckhead also has other suburban strip malls and infrastructure. Buckhead is not urban. It sits in the city limits, yes, but it's not urban.

Myself, I don't "love" to bash them. I just think they offer a lot of forgettable, average at best food. Nothing that I would seek out, especially in the crowded environments that they created. Their success isn't in doubt.
But success doesn't = quality. I don't oppose chains, but I don't think that they are particularly good.

When people say Buckhead, they are usually talking about one or the other: either the old five points intersection where Buckhead began (Peachtree, W. Paces Ferry and Roswell Roads) or they mean the Lenox area. I consider them both urban, however. All of Peachtree from downtown through the Lenox area is now part of a continuous channel of development. Point to me a section that is not urban? Lenox Square and Phipps are surrounded by high-rises. So is old Buckhead.

I figured that it would be a quick response equating high rises with being urban.

It's not an urban environment. It just wasn't built that. Some high rises on the spine of Peachtree doesn't change that. It's like saying that many beach towns are urban environments too because they have a string of high rises. Add to that, that Buckhead also includes miles of wooded stretches of land occupied by secluded large lots (mansions and the like) that are often set so far back from the street, it doesn't even feel suburban, it feels rural.

Nope. I go in the front or Macy's. I will have to find the secret parking location.

I think Buckhead is urban. Note that many urban areas have high-end single family homes. I don't think the mansions negate the high density of public transit, stores, restaurants and condos, which, I think is characteristic of an urban area.
