Noisy bikers are obviously rude and selfish, but you will never stop the problem.

The area between 78 and Covington Highway are usually well patrolled due to Police HQ being right off Memorial Drive.

A few years ago, I found myself engulfed in a massive motorcycle group ("Midnight Club"...although it was more like 10 pm) on I-20 near Boulevard two or three times. There had to have been at least 50 motorcyclists. Some of them were doing wheelies, all of them speeding far over the limit, causing all sorts of confusion for people trying to drive down the higway.

Seen this happen way too much.

I have no sympathy for these people if the get hurt. And I kinda hope it happens. Unfortunately, their stupidity is more likely to hurt somebody else.

this is the textbook definition of conflation. Correlation is not causation. Slowing the motorcycles down won't keep them from being loud, nor riding in packs, nor cruising around 285 at 3AM.... so the OP would have to find some other straw-man to pin his inconvenience upon.

This is why I implied that choosing to live that close to I-285 is a bad idea if traffic noise makes you upset.
Mmmkay. Certainly wasn't thinking this thread would be the least bit controversial, but I guess you want it to go that direction. I am NOT bothered by the noise! Repeat. It does not bother me and is not an inconvenience. I actually find the sound kind of interesting and was curious about it. I mention the noise because it *is* loud and sounds like it zips by very fast and then you can hear it going off into the distance for the next minute. No other car noise. Just a bike. If they are going 55 and that's just the way it is, fine. I just picture in my mind how it would be the prime time for a motorcycle to whiz down the highway w/out many other cars. Maybe I've seen too many YouTube videos of crazy bikers. The fact that it is always happening at 3am also makes me wonder what is going on.

Anyway, you can stop saying how much this bugs me. Your posts are bothering me a heck of a lot more

Police don't stop speeding motorcycles because they can't. Not only can bikes outrun a police car, they can maneuver in and out of traffic and between lanes of cars. As dangerous as that is, it would be even more dangerous for cops to risk the lives of others by pursuing bikers on high-speed chases down the interstates. The only method that has proven somewhat effective at stopping bikers is with roadblocks, but even that is difficult.

As a COA police officer explained to me one time, "If these idiots keep driving like that, they'll eventually crash and kill themselves. Problem solved!"

It can be quite annoying. I've ridden bikes all my life but like anything else you have to respect others.
