They are owned by Cox Media and most of the Cox papers seem equally as weak.

It's true that newspapers in general are in a time of great transition, but the AJC in particular seems to have done a particularly poor job.

We still need newspapers, but the AJC is not that paper anymore, and likely never will be again.

I just subscribed to the Sunday edition... mainly for the coupons and store flyers, but I do sometimes read the business and living section. There really is something traditional when reading the Sunday paper with a nice breakfast and hot coffee on the table.

I also play the 'game' with them when it comes to subscription renewal. There is a premium to having it delivered to your door, but not that much!

I can't even check online today. The picture of that sweet little boy left in the car is haunting.

We do. Mostly because every morning my son and I read the comics while he's eating breakfast. It's good to have a light hearted moment in the morning with a teenage boy Zits is a fav these days

Once it comes up for renewal, I will try and get it at a discount thanks to this thread

Nope, the paper has been going down hill for a long time. Growing up, everyone got the paper, now hardly anyone does. It's too left leaning for my taste. The bias is in all types of stories too, just not politics. I also can't stand Luckovich's cartoons, he's definitely no Grizzard.

AJC editor: ‘I can’t have people stuck on beats’ without audiences

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s newsroom shuffle, executed by managing editor Bert Roughton Jr. after editor Kevin Riley charged him with reimagining the newspaper’s digital strategy, hinges on understanding audiences and responding to them.

The newsroom’s 10 “topic teams,” described Wednesday, include “audience specialists” who were previously part of AJC’s separate digital department. And the topics themselves are built around audience research.

Thanks, everyone. I called the paper and they immediately offered to keep my rate at $25 rather than raise it to $27. But yesterday when my paper wasn't delivered (again!), I accepted that home delivery is just not going to be viable. For $11, I will get the Sunday paper delivered (hopefully) and have full digital access 7 days a week. I guess this will be okay----after all, it's 2014, so time to get with the program and read my news online.

Nope!
Sometimes I had it in my driveway, sometimes no.
Sometimes I would get two, then days without. Excuse was couriers quit.
Next I would get billed, then billed again. Excuse was computer glitch.
Then I renewed my subscription for a final try. Used my Discover card online for a six months subscription. First charge on my Discover in a year.
Next thing I know I have Discover calling me via security. My card was lifted with over $1,000 in charges.
If I read it it is on Sunday it's for the coupons and I buy it at the store which is rare anymore.

Never have subscribed. Even tried on many occasions to get them to stop throwing the free thing in my yard, to no avail. It just goes straight to the recycle bin.

Frequent watcher of local and national TV news, plus some online. Used to listen to NPR often but the GPB station reception isn't that good and PBA isn't my "second cup" of anything.

FWIW, there is a site run by some former AJC journalists called the SaportaReport.
