Interesting changes afoot for Gwinnett and Cobb in the next dozen years.

Wow, I figured Gwinnett would be mostly Asian, not mostly black. I wonder, is this mainly attributable to fewer whites moving to Gwinnett county, or is it an Exodus of whites leaving it? And I wonder what the confidence interval for this data is...How can they know what is going to happen?

If white people abandon the county en masse, I don't think that's very good.

Can you post the prediction for Fulton?

If you look at Georgia and metro Atlanta growth minorties made the majority, so I don't think whites are leaving. The white growth is growing it's just The minority growth is just offsetting and changing the demographics make up as far as percentages.

Also keep in mind the counties are growing so don't think Gwinnett 800k but over a million. More of everybody basically.

Looks like a ton of Hispanic growth is expected in Gwinnett.

I wonder if they are predicting the Hispanics are going to have huge families or if new immigrants are going to keep coming to the county.

They say Hispanic families are getting smaller. See, e.g.:

Quote:
Hispanic Family Size in USA Shrinking

While Hispanic immigrants are presently helping to bolster the U.S. birthrate, the long tradition of large Hispanic families may fast be becoming a thing of the past.

Hispanic couples are starting to follow the lead of others in their new homeland and many now consider one or two children a completed family.

As Hispanics become Americanized and are far away from home, the family, social and religious pressures of their homeland to have larger families decreases. They want to live as their American neighbors with fewer children.

The average Hispanic family, though, is still larger than the national average: 3.87 people per Hispanic family, while the national average for all families is 3.19 people.

As experts see that so many second-generation Hispanics plan on having smaller families, demographers have projected that the birthrates in states with high Hispanic populations will decrease in the future, following the trends already seen in California and Florida.

The change in the demographic makeup of Gwinnett County from county with an overwhelmingly predominantly-white population before the turn-of-the-millennium to a county with an increasingly overwhelmingly predominantly-minority population after the turn-of-the-millennium appears to be attributable to a combination of both more minorities moving into the county than whites and more whites leaving the county than moving into it.

Between 2000 (when Gwinnett's white population was at its largest at 394,164) and 2010, Gwinnett's white population declined by 39,821 to 354,343.

But between 2010 and 2016, Gwinnett's white population has grown by 4,882 (from 354,343 in 2010 to 359,225 in 2016).

Still, Gwinnett's white population experienced an overall net loss of about 34,969 between 2000 and 2016 (or a decline of about 9% between 2000 and 2016).

Meanwhile....While Gwinnett's white population was declining by 9% between 2000 and 2016, the county's minority population grew by 182% between 2000 and 2016, with Gwinnett County's minority population growing by 353,626 between 2000 and 2016.

Gwinnett has been an increasingly popular destination for African and Caribbean nationals as well.

Didn't know the white pop decrease in Gwinnett during the 2000's but glad it's reverse and growing again during the 2010's. but I knew the minority population was skyrocketing.

The Metro overall as well as Gwinnett is heading to a plurality with no group being a majority.

I'm not sure what the country of origin is but Gwinnett also has a booming Islamic population. We went out to visit an old friend in Lilburn and saw several folks walking around covered from head to toe in black outfits.
