Not bad. This is great news for Atlanta. It means it can get bonds cheaper.

Reed is a fiscal conservative and has been getting the house in order. This is also a sign that Atlanta has stabilized its housing market enough that even during the downturn, it could make ends meet. Now that things are better in the national market, Atlanta should be rolling in dough soon.

There's still room for improvement. Cobb County is AAA. As is Smyrna.

No one here cares what Smyrna's bond rating is.

On the other hand, the topic Airforceguy posted is very interesting since CoA is preparing a bond issue soon, something we really need.

Fantastic news! Regardless of what people may think of Kasim Reed, you can't deny that he's done a pretty good (not quite perfect, though) job in office compared to the last few mayors the city had.

Reed bugs me at times, especially his tendency to drop like a hot potato anything he doesn't think will be accomplished within his term (MMPT). On the other hand, his attention to his own ego is great for projects like the BeltLine and improving the city's finances and infrastructure, because he seems them as part of his mayoral legacy. It's not exactly the most progressive style of leadership, but clearly the substance is an improvement over recent history, regardless of your opinion of his style.

Reed has a pretty solid guy working under him with a lot of experience. Michael T Sterling.

I think Reed balancing the budget is hugely significant because that was a serious problem for such a long time.
