I've lived in Atlanta and am a black male and have lived in other countries before and all I gotta say for a big city Atlanta doesn't hold it's weight for people being open minded and intelligent when it comes to this. You can tell by the reaction of people and what they say on certain issues dealing with race. And for this fact don't waste your time in ATlanta you'd probably have a better experience just overall in dating in like DC, Chicago or out in Cali. Atlanta is ghetto anyways. I like a diverse crowd and city and more than everybody trying to get crunk and hood ish. Or those lame ass sororities and frats from the black colleges. As you see I don't like Atlanta but I feel is a necessary place to let the world know or atleast other parts of the U.S. know that black people can do well and make money. But as far as having the black experience or something, ha ha. I don't need it been black all my life time for a change and live as a human being instead of just a african american or feel I need to connect with something. I've been there seen that, don't like that. So all pro black people live in Atlanta i'm gonna go for more of a diverse community preferrably in another country. Where there are lots of different cultues of women to date and they love me for my beautiful blackness. Or just like me for being me and my personality.

You HAVE to be kidding me!! Puleeeese! Atlanta is worse than Chicago???? Having lived in both, allow me a word.... my wife is West Indian. Her roots are Jamaican but she was raised in Canada. But when you see my wife, she looks black. She does not look any different than regular blacks born in the USA. So you could say I am in an interracial marriage. We have lived here since 1996 and had absolutely NO problems here. We have been in the city and in more rural areas of the state and nobody has said a word. Not once. Now Chicago... before you say that, you had best be schooled a bit. In Chicago, you can get KILLED if you dare take your other race partner into certain areas! If you are a black man with a white woman, why don't you try taking a nice evening stroll through Bridgeport or Canaryville and see how far you make it? If you are a white man with a black woman, you should take your stroll through Englewood or Roseland. The fact is that about half the city is OFF LIMITS to you if you desire your health and your life. Even the cops there will tell you not to stroll from the Loop or the lakefront neighbourhoods too far. My thinking is that you have not lived in Chicago. I have.

I must have missed something! What is the objective of your thread? It appears that you might be lacking self confidence and self love. It appears that what you are claiming you don't need, is exaclty what you need; "to connect with something." If you didn't, then you would be happy wherever you live.

If you think you are going to find anything different going overseas, think again!!!!! At least, not until you have changed your perspective on life. Your thread portrays you as a very lonely and lost soul. Maybe that wasn't your intention.

Default Pretty tolerant

I've found the city tolerant. Hey, I can hang out downtown or the Southside and they even like me for my dorky whiteness.

If you look hard enough for negative aspects of life, you will ALWAYS find them.

Everyone should be proud of his/her origin. Why do you need to hear good comments on you based on your race? If you show your possitive value to others, no body will comment on it negtively. There are places where you can feel prejudice exits, but most educated people don't take this any more, at least it's not so easy to be felt.

What explains the story of my young sister friend who's been in the area more than 6 years, and she hasn't had a single brother even want to give her the time of day? She has no lack for caucasians' attentions though . . .

Metro Atlanta is a large place, and you need to explore more widely . . .
