Are they all within walking distance? of say...Woodruff Park?

I wonder how many of them are affordable? it kinda sucks to buy something downtown and then have to drive your car to go get and do stuff.

Most of Downtown is walking distance to Woodruff Park.

The nice thing about Downtown is precisely that everything is so walkable. It's the one part of the city that feels like an actual city, save for Midtown--but even that feels more small-town than Downtown.

It's walkable - but it's also closed when folks are home. lol

Around Centennial not so much though. It's pretty alive there. but down by Woodruff my experience was that everything shut down once the workers left.

Yeah, true, that's one issue. There needs to be a more late night atmosphere to Downtown. There's plenty of stuff around that's open late, but you'd need a bike or a car to get to it.

For the most part, that's true. There are some spots open at night that are two blocks of less from Wooruff Park, though. Off the top of my head:

Slice
Sidebar
Anatolia's
Landmark Diner (24 hours)
Rialto (when they have a performance scheduled)
Theatrical Outfit (ditto)
Dania's Gourmet
Ali Baba's Mediterranean
Ali Baba's Bar & Cafe
Blossom Tree (open until 7:30)
Happy Hookah
Fed Ex/Kinkos
Tin Drum
Rosa's (only until 6, but that's late enough to grab a slice or pizza take home before heading home, and is later than they used to stay open)

There's still a ways to go before Downtown comes alive at night, but it's way better now than at any time in the last 15 years.

here is an itinerary for your evening in downtown, and you can't do anywhere else in the city:
Spinning in the Clouds - Get a drink at Nikolai's Roof, walk to Polaris for a drink and spin, head to Sun Dial for a drink and spin, walk to Sky Wheel for a drink on the wheel, and finish at SkyLounge at Glenn. All open late and you have walked.
