Today, a poster created a thread regarding baked goods and farmers markets. It got me thinking about what is offered here in Atlanta, and I feel like we are really missing a high quality bakery (think bakery as in pastries, desserts, coffee - not just breads) that is open late. In many cities, you can go out to the theatre, movies, or whatever and end up at a late night spot that is solely for desserts and coffees, or late night snacks. The only one I know of that fits this description in Atlanta is Cafe Intermezzo, and maybe Sweet Hut, although it's a little ways down Buford Highway for me on a normal night (waiting for their midtown location anxiously!)

Does anybody know of any late night cafes/bakeries - think open until at least midnight - other than Cafe Intermezzo that are ITP? Think cases of pastries, cakes, and other desserts that you can choose from, not just off the dessert menu at a normal full service restaurant. If not, why aren't there more places like that intown, where people can just walk after a nice night out and get some dessert?

Thanks! I'll have to give those a try.
