But you would not blame city officials for his statements, as you do with Brookhaven?

Looks like Brookhaven will just keep getting denser and denser. Hope they don't kill the goose that laid the golden egg.

Quote:
Commissioners voted 4-2 to recommend approval of the application from Ashton Woods to rezone the site from R-75 (single-family residential) to RM-100 (multi-family residential). The vote is a turnaround from the commission’s original vote in October to recommend denial. Following that vote, the developer asked the City Council for more time to work with the community to gain support.

The project originally started as a 74-unit development, was then lowered to 64 units before gaining the Planning Commission’s OK with 59 units. Of the 59 residential, there will also now be eight detached single-family lots and 10 “manor home” units priced in the $300,000 range to address affordability concerns from city officials.

We had to run up there the other day and it looked like there were 2 or 3 new projects under way.

What the hell are "manor homes" - I'm imagining the big houses that are near the million mark, but they state $300k ( lolololol )

I can't fault them though. With all the development, some existing owners don't want the change/increase in traffic and such. But, if your city doesn't grow, it dies.

It may be similar to a patio home or a townhouse but I am no expert on the subject.

That project I’m fine with as a resident. More townhomes. Less apartments.

Ashton is one one of the best builders around. Should be a great project.

Another townhome development went quickly underway at the corner of Dresden and Apple Valley.

The more apartments are expected to start on Dresden shortly.

New BBQ joint a few weeks ago too. And a steakhouse coming literally in the neighborhood...some new industrial type space. Looks pretty cool. Wonder what else will to back there.
