What if one of the council members in strong support of what has happened/complained about in this thread is a minority? (And will probably be the next mayor)

Well, are they cracking down on non-minority owned/patronized bars and forcing them to close early, too?

There are none.

Its a city wide ordinance. If there was one, I'm sure it would not have some double secret exemption.

I'm just asking based on the lawsuits that have been filed in federal court. They could be wrong but I haven't heard anybody say so.

And there are a ton of white owned/patronized bars in Brookhaven.

I wouldn't say "a ton". Besides the offerings on Buford Highway (which Brookhaven inherited upon cityhood), there's Dresden Drive (relatively new; nice but not exactly booming), a couple of offerings here and there on Peachtree and at Cambridge Square. Overall, it's a pretty sedate scene, which is why I'm still baffled by this claim of Excitement Capital of Georgia.

All the ones that I can think of serve food. Restaurants first, bars second. They close well before 2:30 already. Then you have the club tax. These places are not restaurants.

Excitement Capital of Georgia.
I'd say it beats out a lot of places in the metro, but is squarely behind about 10 ITP hoods. Got a lot more going on than say its neighbors, Sandy Springs and Funwoody. For a mostly 30+ crowd, its not too bad.

Considering that Dunwoody encompasses Perimeter Center, and Sandy Springs has a rapidly intensifying downtown, I don't think I can get behind said statement.

Meh. Sandy Springs is building a bloated gov't complex. Very exciting. Dunwoody is building more and more office complexes around a mall. Also, very exciting.

If these are the measuring bar for exciting places to live, count me out.

Food and nightlife still are very non-existent in both, minus a few spots.

I've lived in Dunwoody, directly behind the village, for two yrs. I've lived in Sandy Springs for over 10 yrs.
Brookhaven, before it was a city, 10 yrs in two different locations....previous location on the Sandy Springs and Dunwoody boarder. Brookhaven wins hands down in the exciting category.

Average age in Brookhaven is probably a full 10 yrs lower than both.
