This protest is BS and being staged by people who don't work typical 9-5, in the office jobs. Go home and blog about it.

No problem, Arjay. I didn't think you were calling me crazy. I was confuesed by your use of the past tense.

Atlanta News: Arrest made in Phipps Plaza, Edgewood carjackings | www.ajc.com

This kid is also believed to be involved in the Edgewood crime(s). Hopefully the police can make him squeal like a pig and soon they'll have the whole crew locked up.

If we're lucky these would be the same jagoffs who are responsible for the home invasions in Lake Claire over the past couple of months, as well.

"The parents of the 17-year-old boy charged in a string of recent carjackings and robberies were themselves sentenced to prison five years ago for their roles in what federal prosecutors called a multi-state drug trafficking organization based in Snellville.

The couple’s 17-year-old son, also named Steven, has been charged with beating a woman before stealing her car from the parking deck of Phipps Plaza on August 4, as well as the July 5 beating and carjacking of a woman at the Edgewood Retail District on Caroline Street, a July 7 robbery on East Lake Boulevard in which the victim was hit in the face and robbed and a July 12 carjacking on Moreland Avenue where the victim was threatened with a gun..."

Yet another reminder that the reasons crime happens are rarely as cut-and-dried as we think. Both our criminal justice problems and our educational system problems begin with the parents.

They've hit Druid Hills as well, robbing places at night.

I just heard that there were problems recently in Druid Hills, too. In some ways the MO doesn't quite fit as these were home invasions rather than carjackings, but the ultimate objective was the same. The thieves would break in to a house and only take the car keys (although anything valuable between the door and the keys was a bonus). Plus, they were bold enough to do it when they knew the homeowners were home. While no one was threatened with a gun, they weren't above punching older women in the face when stumbled upon in the act. So, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Interesting. It seems to me that a home invasion would be a lot riskier than sneaking up on lone women in a parking lot. If you try to get into somebody's house you may well be facing a security system, surveillance cameras, dogs and armed homeowners. Unless you overcome all that quickly they are liable to turn you every which way but loose.
