Has anyone heard even a semi-official start date yet? There was a rumor elsewhere that it would be Dec 6, this weekend.

Haven't heard anything. I haven't seen any streetcars rolling since before Thanksgiving.

I wish it did open this Saturday since my entire day will be between downtown, Edgewood and Auburn Ave

"Atlanta Streetcar isn't expected to open to riders on the city's latest targeted launch date of Dec. 6. The date was selected after the downtown streetcar project missed other targeted start dates.

The FTA has not yet signed off on passenger service, which means Atlanta Streetcar will not, as city officials had hoped, be available to visitors to Atlanta during the SEC Football Championship Game on Saturday, WSB-TV reported early Thursday. City officials are still hopeful the streetcar will open by the end of the year, the station said..."

The news is still trolling. The mayor said it will be ready by Dec 31. It isn't delayed unless it opens after Dec 31

I'm no fan of the local news media and their obsesion with every minor imperfection that comes out of the city, but they're not wrong on this. If the streetcar announces an opening date, and they miss it, then they're delayed. What the mayor says is irrelevant.

I hope the mayor is right and this thing will be open before the end of the year, but I have strong doubts that it will.

Saw one stuck in traffic with the rest of us downtown after the end of the SEC Championship. I picked a bad night to go to a concert at the Tabernacle.

For future reference, it would be quicker to walk somewhere downtown than take the streetcar after a major event at the Dome because it will just be sitting still like all the cars. Looked nice though I guess.
