Zell Miller endorses Michelle Nunn for Senate, but Nathan Deal for governor | Political Insider blog

I would flip endorsements.. Jason Carter for governor and David Perdue for senate. It's not like democrats will be able to keep the senate anyways. A democrat in a republican-controlled senate will just be a failed democrat in the eyes of the public. Nunn will never be reelected.

I think the GOP's chances for control of the Senate are still very 50/50. There are too many close races right now. That said, I think Michelle Nunn will have a slightly uphill battle, with her name helping her quite a bit though.

The predictions of Republicans taking the Senate presuppose that Nunn loses her fight in Georgia. If our state flips, the Republicans have to find another Democratic-held seat in order to win control.

i was going to post this earlier, but since it's the atlanta forum i was worried it would get taken down; the georgia forum is kind of dead so most people wouldn't see it there.

this honestly took me by surprise. i would have never expected this to happen. if zell miller is behind her... damn. look out david perdue.

RealClearPolitics - Election 2014 - Georgia Governor - Deal vs. Carter
RealClearPolitics - 2014 Georgia Senate Race

Jason Carter is doing better against Deal than Nunn is against Perdue...

Let's not forget, Georgia is like a lot of Southern states that wouldn't mind a Democrat governor, but prefers a Republican in Congress.

Deal only got 53% in 2010 though

I am getting the feeling Nunn may surprise some people. If Zell likes her you know she is pretty good folks.

Zell likely endorsed her because I assume he is friends with her dad.

His endorsement of Deal demonstrates further how ridiculous he is.
