"Last week, we reported on Atlanta taxi and limo industries pushing the city and state to start regulating Uber and Lyft. They argued the Silicon Valley firms, which are gobbling up their business, presented a "public safety" issue. The owners wanted a "level playing field."

They better not screw it up. Uber has been one of the best additions to Atlanta in a long time.

I love Uber, free market, and choice. Taxis should improve their products and stop the witch-hunt against Uber and Lyft.

Fixed link

The sponsor is the same guy that pushed for "regulation" last year.

Before they turn on Uber and Lyft they should sort out the state of the local taxi companies.

Last 2 times I've taken a cab from the Airport to North Ave the driver has had no clue in which direction to go and the last taxi was disgusting.

If they ban Uber and Lyft they better prepare for more blood on the cities hands as once again more people take to drinking and driving.

Any State of Georgia Republican politician who votes on this crap bill...and in the same breath talks about less governmet regulation...should be put on permanent "ignore" status.

The Taxi industry in this state needs to be shaken up.

Uber needs to sack up and treat it's drivers and actual employees, not contractors. Uber claims it's just "licensincg the mobile platform" to drivers, when in reality their involvement goes significantly deeper.

Taxi's need competition.

Uber and Lyft are great. Shame on taxi lobbing and especially the GA legislature if they stop them.
