What's so strange about it? I've not been in Boston or NY. Didn't use much public transit in SF. I know Seattle and Houston much better. Also Atlanta.

Controversial topics are more interesting. I hate pablum topics that invite only approbations.

I would love to ride MARTA, but it's not convenient for me as a Cobb County resident.

Same here, but there's always CCT, I guess?

True, but I was referring to rail.

Well, that's true. I was just being silly about Mathman's preoccupations with MARTA and Morris Brown.

I do not have a car so have been a near daily rider of MARTA for ~2.5 years (85% bus 15% rail) and I have only ever witnessed 1 "incident" of some rowdy teenagers acting a fool and running through the entire train when I was heading to the airport, next stop MARTA PD was escorting the group off the train. In 5 days of commuting and personal travel (~12-14 bus rides weekly) there is a MARTA PD riding the bus probably 2-3 of those rides and I see them roaming trains on the red/gold at least half the time.

Keith Parker has really stepped up to the plate and has made massive improvements to the system since the absolutely useless Beverly Scott who was just sitting on her rear collecting a paycheck. How MBTA thought she was a good candidate to run a far more complex system is absolutely beyond me, good luck Bostonites your system is about to go down the toilet.

I love the people who tout how dangerous MARTA is when they have never stepped foot near a MARTA train or bus, usually comes out of the mouth of the bougie suburbanites shortly before/after they complain about their commute, traffic and/or gas expenses.

It's exceptionally rare that this forum hears from someone who relies on MARTA for their transportation, so thanks for sharing your perspective! It's not quite right that the people debating MARTA are generally suburbanites who never ride it and intown residents who do ride it but not as their primary means of transportation.

I live about a mile from the Lindbergh station and use it to go to the airport and downtown. However, for my daily commute, I drive because while my office is right next to the North Avenue station, a discounted monthly MARTA pass is double our monthly parking rates.
