Good documentary.

Atlanta rap was not the first, but it is the best

I mean the #1 hip hop album of all time is OutKast for a reason.

Did you even watch the video? They start off talking about how Rap started in New York and Hip Hop fans in Atlanta were for a long time mostly into New York Rap.

You should watch it. It really is a good informative documentary.

Good video.

I think what we can take away from all this is that hip hop and rap will evolve over time with every generation. Their is no prior scene or time that is the definition while subsequent scenes are trying to copy it or whatever. Sure, there are copiers out there but they don't last and most people can see right through it. But music evolves, builds on prior generations and makes new things. Like biological evolution. For instance, no one would claim that Neanderthals/cave men were the definition of humanity and we are all ripping them off by doing what we do today. No, there has been evolution. Just like in the music/hip hop/rap world. Years from now the Atlanta sound will evolve into something new and different for the next generation. That's just how it works.

I will watch this later, but I have a love hate thing with Atlanta rap/ hip hop.

There is SO MUCH STUPID coming out of rappers from Atlanta. Not all of them, but way too many scumbags with no talent and terrible beats rapping about S that has already been done time and time again. Not to mention the negative influence it has on some people is quantifiable.

Then you have Outkast. I really don't understand how Atlanta can produce the greatest rap group of all time, then continue to pump out the lowest hanging fruit of the rap genre. I don't get it.

The same is in every other city. All cities have bad rappers. You see more bad rappers in Atlanta because you love in Atlanta

Perhaps rap will evolve into classical. That would be a pleasant evolution.

Yeah, I know. It's a constant battle over the radio dial with my kids. They love rap and hip hop. They hate opera.........
