We moved here in June and have finally narrowed down our search to North Cobb County and West Cobb. Does anyone have insight into the schools in these areas? I'm looking at a house tomorrow in North Cobb HS district. We have also looked at houses in Allatoona HS, Harrison HS, and Hilgrove HS. Our budget is $250k.
Thanks

Really all 3 are good schools. Allatoona and Hillgrove are newer schools. Hillgrove was built to help with overcrowding mainly at Meachern(not the right spelling) and Allatoona was to ease North Cobb and Harrison. Harrison is not in the same tier as Allatoona and Hillgrove but still 1 of the better schools in Cobb County District(doesn't include Marietta High its in its own district)

What do you mean by "Harrison is not in the same tier"?

Harrison is seen as the top school in West Cobb--followed usually by Kennesaw Mountain. Then, in order it's normally Hillgrove, Allatoona, and North Cobb.

This only matters if one is into "rankings," etc. All five high schools are good schools.

(And for the record, Hillgrove was built to relieve overcrowding at McEachern and then Kennesaw Mountain {with a very small amount from Harrison}. Allatoona was built to relieve overcrowding at Kennesaw Mountain, followed by Harrison and some from North Cobb.)

We use to reside in North Cobb high area in 2006. It was not a good school then. Don't know if things have changed now.
