We have the burger thread, searched and didn't see sandwich.

I bring this up because I think I had the best one in Atlanta yesterday.

Fox Bros Smoked Corn Beef Sandwich. It was simply awesome. They try to do this every Friday per the bartender. I typically get the wings, but if I'm there on a Friday I have a new go-to. House made mustard and slaw with pickles...and three ultra thick meat slices stacked high.

Another place I tried for the first time recently was E 48th Street Deli in Dunwoody... place is great. I've lived somewhat near here years and just now finally stumbled upon it. Meatball Sub was great as was their traditional Italian cured meats. Italian Deli, Wines, Grocery & Bakery in Dunwoody, GA

Love E. 48th! They also have pizza kits with all fresh ingredients to assemble at home. Yum.

On a Saturday morning I apply 3 pats of Land-o-Lakes butter in a small skillet and set on low, add slight sprinkling of tones garlic and herb....ever so little here...less is more........then, I get out the provolone, honey cured ham, fresh smoked turkey (kids don't like it so I have a 50/50 shot at it), all slice very, very thin.

Next I scrounge around for the best Romaine pieces left....rinse and wring out completely dry....then I gather two, fresh slices of 12 grain bread...you know, that stuff they sell in the stores for about a $1 more than it's worth.....lightly toast them and then, plop them in the now bubbling pan, swab it out, place on plate....

Then, I layer and fold the appropriate amounts of provolone, ham, and turkey, add Romaine, and place 3 thinly slices of tomato, if available, on top, add horseradish sauce and mayo to taste, dash of salt and pepper admire and then run like heck before my one son finds out I made it and retreat to the den to enjoy with whatever ice cold beer I have in the fridge....preferably amber something something or something.........and finally, for the first time all week, eat slowly.....if I'm lucky, Fox news has some delectable hosts....all of them have D or DD cups so, no losers there....Kelly is so pretty I let her smaller bust go....hey? no one is perfect....they usually go on about some parking ticket or whatever but me? I'm there for the models....hey, deep as a saucer, what can I say....

Wash it all down and then go upstairs and pass out as I am a type II diabetic.......that or skip the whole exercise and head down to Firehouse subs for one of those delectable franchise choices...ahem.......THEN go home and pass out...either way, I win.......

I don't see how it can be any good unless you're paying at least $11 and it's within 1/2 mile of the Beltline.

According to this past week's new yorker, a full 1/3 of american's are trying to eat gluten free, turning the GF market into fifteen billion dollars by 2016 - hence folks are slow to reply. While I like to eat healthily, I also indulge and eat well. As a native new yorker, I love E48th st. The Wright's gourmet sandwich shop is also quite good in Dunwoody.

Can anybody recommend a authentic NY Style deli, where I can get a (good) pastrami on rye w/mustard? I've tried a few place here so far. The pastrami sandwich at Alon's was the best so far, but not on a Katz Deli level .

Sorry OP, but the amount of fat on that corned beef sandwich would make me gag. If I'm in the mood for corned beef, I'm heading to the Olde Blind Dog in Milton. It's lean, and sliced thin, just the way I like it.

They should give you a pamphlet on the Heimlich maneuver along with your sandwich at Katz's.

That pic (not of sandwich I had) is a little fat heavy. That said, its a brisket cut and there is going to be a thin layer of fat. I leave some of it on, take some off.

I saw that and my friend says it is awesome. Says it is better than any delivery and most others for the price of $6 bucks or so...can't beat that. I did grab some of their pre sliced pepperoni for my son's gluten free pizzas we get for him. Next time I'm going to grab the whole set-up to throw on my faux egg.
