It doesn't really matter if you ever step foot in your tub, when it comes to resale, it isn't really a master bath without the bath....

And this doesn't even mention the contamination from a person's nether region that may be in bath water (maybe you wiped last time you had a bowel movement, but did you clean it with soap and water?).

Unless you take a full shower before you take a bath, it's gross.

Not to mention, tubs are a waste of space in a house.
Try a bubble bath with your spouse and a bottle of wine. You might just change your mind...

LOL. Should be fun though. We've enjoyed ours immensely.
No doubt, completely agree. We know that the hot tub isn't a 100% replacement for a tub in the master bath, and there are drawbacks. It will also probably hurt resale somewhat, but at the same time we decided the tradeoff was worth it.

And for 10 feet tall, I presume then that you never go in the ocean, a lake, a river, a stream or a pool of any kind (public or private), because the same principals you cite apply. I don't recall hearing about an epedemic of germs being spread due to people bathing, so I'll take my chances.

If you're grossed out by it, I would think you'd take the shower after the bath.

I'm not a fan of baths. Lingering in a bathroom in general is not on my top 10 list of activities. Shower girl all the way.

Now, I would be totally into an outdoor hot tub however.

In any case - I don't have a bathtun in my master, and that's ok cuz I have a pretty cool shower. I would actually like to get rid of the tub in my hallway bath and turn that into a shower too, but I am always cautioned against it because "tubs are good for resale".

- the funny thing about "resale" is that we say it won't matter if our house does/doesn't have xyz, but when it comes time to sell and buyers aren't buying because of said deficiency, we wish we had rethought our decision. I learned this the hard way...
