Lakeside wants the entire area around Northlake. Tucker rely heavily on that area in terms of dollars.

No one has yet to come knocking on my door about incorporating this area.

I want local control of our shared tax resources, but doubt I could bring myself to vote in a new layer of suburb-minded govt as this map illustrates. This city encompasses altogether too much of Pleasantdale, an area that has completely different needs and vision than our intown North Decatur/Toco areas. I'd be trading one tax siphon for another.

That said, don't assume the city doesn't "want" Emory or Scottdale areas. (Well maybe the Lakeside leaders felt that way, but definitely not the Briarcliff leaders.) Briarcliff is trying to remain respectful of existing annexation plans, to their detriment really. Might have been better just to have defined a real area of affinity (ITP areas) and let the chips fall where they may. That's a city that would see popular support. This conservative white Franken city is not going to fly I bet.
