I did read all the comments, thanks to you all taking your time to help. We are thinking about moving to Alpharetta from San Diego, CA due to career opportunity. I have done my research on Atlanta and all, but I also heard about mosquito problem. Is that also true in Alpharetta region ?
Thanks again.

Alpharetta is in the same county as Atlanta and there is about 26 miles between them. Alpharetta is in the Atlanta region, so I can't imagine there would be a significant difference in the mosquito problem.

Native Atlantan Here. As a child, my legs always seemed to be "eaten up" with mosquito bites. For my children, who LOVE to play outside in our wonderful climate, I spray liberally with OFF and have MUCH better results. There are also many companies that will come and spray your yard to make it "mosquito free". My neighbors rave over it; I honestly have never even investigated the expense. I will say that we live near a rather large lake, so the mosquitoes DEFINITELY have a breeding ground advantage in our community. What I want most to say is to not let a "fear of mosquitoes" keep you out of all that is wonderful about Metro Atlanta: spray yourself and your children, or have your entire yard sprayed. Either way, you will probably LOVE it here!

Atlanta is in a relatively "humid" climate and mosquitoes breed in these climate conditions. I mean, there's definitely worse in this category. I don't consider the mosquitoes to be a "problem" in Atlanta but you will definitely find more than you will in San Diego. I wouldn't let that stop you though. If you have a good job opportunity Alpharetta is very affordable compared to San Diego for a fairly nice lifestyle.

Forget the expense. There are likely very large negative effects to birds and other important fauna in the area. The stuff they spray now is not nearly as bad as DDT, but it's probably not really good either. Application of a deet-based spray like Off to your skin is the best deterrent, both for you and for other animals in the area.
