One week in ATL Metro Area. Also, is it time to panic? (Savannah: to live, restaurant)

In addition to pine needles, it smells like whatever is in bloom at the moment. I remember when I lived there during 03-04 that there was a time when everything everywhere smelled like honeysuckle, then other times it would smell like dogwood... I definitely remember the wonderful smells in the air while I lived there!

I have honeysuckle, jasmine and gardenias around my place. When they are all blooming at once, it's almost surreal.

Another thing I've noticed about ATL area: not many minivans. Where I'm from, it is minivan-city.

I am so bug-phobic that I actually put it in our purchase contract to have a bug guy inspect the house for bugs. Detest isn't a strong enough word for what I feel about bugs. I really wanted to escape the cold weather of up north, and when I did my research online, I came to the conclusion that Georgia was about as far south as I could potentially stand bug-wise. Florida is off the chain with its bugs and snakes. After a full year here, I should know whether or not I can handle Georgia bug levels. I hope I can deal with it, 'cause I think otherwise I'm going to be really happy here. Nice people, great weather, lots to do, easy day trips to other states, etc.

I have a good friend from Rochester who pointed out that there are fewer bugs in cooler temps. I also have a good friend in Miami who has added iguanas to the list of common vermin - now, that just want won't do. I'm not afraid of lizards but if you could see what her back yard looks like sometimes then you'd understand it's totally unacceptable.

Good luck with you and your exterminator. It's better to have one than not so as long as he gets the job done then that's all that really counts.

I have never seen so many Nissan Leafs in my life...until we moved to ATL.
