Atlanta is very liberal, and where it's not it's at least generally libertarian. But the politics that define the state, obviously, are not. If the GA GOP would abandon their social conservative bent, then 20 something progressive coders and budding tech entrepreneurs would view GA as a more inviting destination.

Right, but Texas, North Carolina, and Utah all have this same problem, yet the cities that were mentioned earlier here like Austin, Raleigh, and Provo attract these very same people in spite of it. Ultimately, it's the business environment that will win out and Atlanta has a very attractive one.
