That isn't really a reverse commute. Traffic is slightly less heavy in the direction that you would be traveling, but there is already quite a bit of traffic going both ways since Alpharetta is a huge employment center.

I've done both already, and by far I much prefer going Northbound in the AM

Me too! Although my move will closer to fall instead of summer. Have no idea which neighborhood to rent or buy in. It's very dizzying at times which I should do, and where. I'm kinda noncommittal, so don't know about buying.

After a lot of reflection I have decided to buy a condo and move into the city for a shorter commute to my work (in Mid-town) as well enjoy all the city has to offer. Looking into the neighborhoods -- Old Fourth Ward, Virginia Highland and Midtown when I run my searches in Zillow. Any other recommendations from long-time residents...afdinatl?

Thanks
Ron

If you are specifically looking for a condo, then you might consider one of the older towers like Metropolis. My favorite view of the city is from the Atlantic on 17th st.

If I remember correctly, and please correct me if I am mistaken, there are some old office buildings turned condo downtown along Marietta Street and further north in the Fairlie-Popular District, perhaps Broad Street or Lucky Street. The old Kessler Department Store on lower Peachtree south of Five Points (I am talking about Five Points downtown where Peachtree Street, Decatur Street, Edgewood Avenue, and Marietta Street meet, not the community Little Five Points in northeast Atlanta.) has been converted into lofts, also and I think that it is also a Condo building. Also south of Five Points is the Canterbury Hill (some one please check my spelling here.) area, an old warehouse district where many of the buildings have been converted. I have been told that it is fast becoming a very hip district. Also on the westside (really just a little west of the fringes of the Georgia Tech Campus) is a place they (the realtors) are calling "West Midtown", that I as a Native Atlantan would probably just call, I don't know, "inner-westside" that has had a great deal of development lately. Good luck on your search.
