I might as well. Heck I work downtown and spend most of my time in the city partying, at networking events and at restaurants so I'm like I might as well. I will be able to take Marta to work so I will not be putting all those miles on my car. If we have another 2 inch blizzard I will not have to worry about having a 12 hour commute. I can go to more events because the main factor in me going out is not feeling like driving into the city. My fav hangout spot is Edgewood so once that streetcar is launched I will have access to all my fav hangout spots. Plus my car overheated on Thanksgiving and if I lived near Marta I could have took Marta to the airport and rented me a car. Since I live in the burbs I had to wait until the next day. I'm happy I will be able to help the city grow by moving into the city that I love.

Who else OTP is planning this move with me next year?.

I thought you moved back. What career field are you in? I actually know a chick that just moved here from Pittsburgh

I notice quite a few transplants at the Braves/Pirates games. I have an Accounting background, so if there are any hiring managers who can help expedite my move, shoot me a message

Check Indeed.com.

Check out the career pages of State Farm, Home Depot, Coca Cola, Delta, Waffle House, etc. All the huge headquarters that are here. Find a position and apply to it The trick is to call and find the hiring manager. Then sell yourself. The days are gone where you just submit a resume and wait for a response

Good ideas - thanks. I hope to be able to walk to work or take transit some day, and that certainly won't happen where I am now (living in Cumming commute to Alpharetta).

What neighborhood are you moving to? I'd move to O4W or Inman Park.

@afdinatl - Are you buying or renting? I currently live (rental) in Buckhead and work in Midtown Atlanta, I am comtemplating buying a townhouse/condo by next Summer but can't make up my mind if I should pick Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area or closer to the city. Single male in mid-thirties with no kids/family and no intention of changing that anytime soon (or later..)

I'm with ya! Moving my family to the city next year. Hoping to buy a home. The only thing is I work in Cobb (directly across from new Braves site, lol..) and don't want my commute to get any worse than it already is.
