I've had most of them, and they all have good and bad.

Except Sprint. It's all bad.

Sprint is by far the worst one. The big problem I had with them is that when you are on Sprint's LTE network, it's really good. The problem is that you can't get it in every part of the city. And for some reason (maybe it was my phone, I don't know), when driving through town, it had a horrible time switching from tower to tower. When you went from one tower to another, you'd lose LTE. If you threw your phone into airplane mode and then back, then you'd be on it, but if you didn't do that then it would take the phone a few minutes to catch the new LTE signal. Maybe they fixed this.

With AT&T and T-Mobile, when you're not on LTE, at least you are still getting HSPA+, so you can still do things like stream music, browse e-mail, etc. When I would lose LTE on Sprint, the data was so horribly slow that most apps would just crap out entirely. I was told this was because Sprint bet so heavy on Wi-Max, or whatever it was called, and never invested in an HSPA+ network. So you're basically using pretty good LTE, or useless Edge.

I'm not a cell phone technician, I just know I had a horrible experience with Sprint. So much so that I broke my contract to get out of it, which I've never had to do before.

I'd get Metro PCS or Cricket before Sprint again. I'll never use Sprint again.

Incidentally, even though Verizon is good, I prefer GSM phones. That way, if you lose or break a phone, you can just get a cheapo model, or your old phone, and pop the SIM card in while you figure out what to do. With CDMA, you are screwed until you actually go to the store and buy a new phone.

Actually, AT&T doesn't let you switch willy-nilly anymore. Any time you pop your SIM into a new phone, you have to call in to customer service to have them authorize the new device.

Of the big four, only T-mobile currently lets you switch devices at will.

I have had Bellsouth Mobility/Cingular/AT&T, MetroPCS, Sprint, and T-Mobile over the past more than 10 years. The only service I had a problem with dropped calls is MetroPCS.

Even though I fell out with them for not honoring the insurance I paid for since January of 2009, I still think Sprint may have the best service.

My issue with T-Mobile is that the ads you see on tv are not really what you sign up for and their customer service has no problem with saying OK but now what.

My move back to AT&T was fueled by anger, but I'm still hanging in again even though I know I'm not getting the most for my money.

You're like the first person I have heard to not have bunch of complaints about Verizon, but I have never had it myself so I don't have a personal opinion.

If I were starting out fresh and not pissed, I'd go with Sprint.

FYI - People on Verizon Share Plans can call in to double their data. I just went from 3 to 6gb. No catch. Free.

Call this dedicated line to the deal. They will ask if you received an email or txt (I did not) and just say you did.
