We could ship them to Detroit, they don't have the money to sue us.

Not only that, but for a few grand we could buy some empty city blocks and set up a squatters neighborhood. We could even buy a huge building for nothing to serve as a relocation center.

But in all seriousness... I actually agree with DreamerD, we have a serious problem with treating mental illness in this country. We have a serious problems laws regarding mental illness.

afdinatl, I know this was directed at someone else, but I won't let this go unanswered... this is something I firsthand have experience with a relative that would otherwise be incapable of living on her own in society. We would never let her go homeless, but it has been very taxing on our family and I still worry about the future sometimes. When I have encountered people on the streets that have issues that keep them from being productive, I recognize many of the problems.

In short... Put a sock in it.

I don't know that we have problems with the laws. But we do have problems dealing with mental illness. The proportion of the homeless who are veterans definitely says something. We are failing our vets in some way.
