It's nice to hear positive news about the metro area (thanks!). Good for Kennesaw!

Do you know what's going up across from Trackside in Downtown Kennesaw? Where that huge construction project is?

Kids and I were watching it from the rooftop of BurgerFi, speculating. They are all so hopeful it's something fun (in their most secret of hearts, they're probably going "indoor water park, indoor water park, please let it be an indoor water park!") We all agreed, however, it's probably going to be a Public Storage

Chinmama1: It's going to be a mixed-use development - apartments with retail on the ground level, with a parking garage (which looks to be almost done!). More on it here from the developer: http://www.theprestonpartnership.com...w-main-street/

More Kennesaw developments:

Oh, and for the kids, I have heard rumblings about a potential water park at Swift-Cantrell, but I don't know if that's just gossip or actually in the plans.

Kennesaw is really going places. It has a great quality of life and increasingly diverse living choices.

That's great! My kids will be so glad to hear it's not a public storage A water park would be a fun addition to the area--families could make a day out of heading over there after the train museum. **(Parents who are fairly close to Kennesaw, please check out the train museum if you haven't already! It's awesome!!)**

I am amazed at how quickly development had picked up in places like Kennesaw, Marietta and Woodstock. I have lived in metro Atlanta most of my life and always found those cities to be full of potential, but incredibly disappointing. IMO, all 3 are now the most lively and vibrant I have ever seen them. It's exciting to finally see all that walkable, small-town downtown charm being fulfilled!

White Water is literally just south of Kennesaw in Marietta. I don't really see the need to have two water parks within 15 minutes of each other. Unless you meant a public one??

The rumblings are not about a true water park - more of a splash pond type thing with the water spouts and stuff that kids can run through. Again, it could all be just a rumor, and Swift Cantrell is a public park.

uggg, someone rent my house! Stuck in DC. I think the housing market has picked up a lot in the last 4 years, but it's still slumping a bit.
