I think the point was that Downtown Chamblee is not OTP.

NOW I see it... It's past my beddie-bye time...

Too late to edit... grrr
OTP: Mableton or Austell could be a lot better with more investment and much more desirable given the rail and interstate access.

I know it's a city but East Point is underrated. West End, Castleberry Hill and South Downtown are too in my opinion.

Otp I love Buford Highway and it has some nice neighborhoods of ranch houses behind the commercial areas. I love all the beautiful people who brought their cultures and foods with them.

Downtown Norcross is pretty nice and rarely gets mentioned. The city of Mountain Park is beautiful. If you haven't seen it you should.

The only reason why Brookhaven is getting that much attention is because it has no downtown or central business district and the people there are scrambling to form one as quickly as possible.

downtown east point is actually pretty nice. it has a small town vibe, which is exceedingly rare in metro atlanta these days.

Unfortunately EP is South of I20, and that according to many around the metro means "dangerous".
That's ok with me because it remains affordable

Parts of it away from it's downtown area are and that gives it a high crime rate. It has a nice downtown and friendly residents. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a great deal on a house.

I would love to own a home there or in College Park. Crime rates in both of them are lower near the downtown areas bit skewed by the outer edges. They both have very livable charming neighborhoods. Same goes for Capitol View, Adair Park, Westview and quite a few others on the south side of I-20.

True, but it's also true that the only way to get that type of investment and development is if/when people get interested in living there. Brookhaven was desirable already or all those live/work/play units wouldn't have gone up. Chamblee hasn't yet been "noticed" enough. If the TOD causes it to take off, that whole stretch through central Chamblee could be another Dresden Dr., I think.
