Particularly in the wake of the terror attacks in Paris... Do you think security should be more stringent for passengers?

Pretty safe. I doubt they will attack Atlanta. They'll attack at least 5 cities before they attack Atlanta.

I'm more worried about pick pockets than terrorism but still not that worried about either.

I've never felt unsafe on Marta. I doubt there will be any attacks in America.

To be honest with you that is the last thing on the average persons mind down here. We are wired differently here. In most cities people worry about high cost of living, natural disasters, having money for tolls, potential terrorist threats, etc but we don't worry about those things here.

Well, we can't forget 9/11 and it's not like the U.S. has become immune. If a terrorist wanted to attack MARTA or any transit system in American, they very easily could.

With that said, I never felt particularly unsafe on MARTA, but I have seen some interesting characters and fights and such do happen on there. I was riding the train back to Buckhead last winter from 5 Points station and I noticed a large suitcase sitting on top of a trash can unattended on the platform across from me. I did call MARTA police to alert them about the suitcase but I don't know if they ever came out. They didn't come while I was waiting on the platform for my train after I made the call.

Generally.

Once, a buffoon was trying to close his boxcutter, and an old lady told him how to close it. Then all eyes were on him.

There doesn't seem to be that much security on Marta, yet at the same time, terrorists probably are targeting NYC and DC, not here.
