I'm a young, single, female professional starting a new job, and I'll be moving to Atlanta from Iowa very soon. Before assumptions get made, I'm originally from Denver and can handle big city living. My office is in Midtown off of Peachtree Street NE, and I'd like to live close by. I've heard relatively good things about Midtown and Buckhead, and I'm looking for a nice apartment complex that is relatively safe and has good service. That said, I'm having trouble narrowing down my search. I'll be flying out this week to look around, but I have limited time to do so. Can anyone recommend a property management company, or specific complex to look at? I'd like to spend less than $1500 on rent per month for a 2 bedroom, $1000 for a 1 bedroom. Thank you for your advice in advance!

Post Biltmore is a good apartment complex in your price range. Its right in the middle of midtown and its a pretty nice building. I lived there for 2 years. Other than that you may be able to rent a condo in Metropolis, Spire, or Cornerstone Village.

Thank you, I'll look into those. Do you know anything about Wesley Townsend or Colonial Homes apartments? I'm also looking at those. Thanks a ton!

Does it have to be a complex? There are duplexes and triplexes in the part of the neighborhood where the homes are. You can probably get a really nice apartment in a duplex for your price range. You'll be surrounded by mostly people who own their homes. It's residential...quiet.

Nope, but I'd prefer a place with nice amenities (W/D, pool, fitness center, balcony) than without. I've been looking and it seems that only the larger complex properties have those things.

Yes, that's true. There are different amenities for each. For a duplex it's more privacy and a quieter, usually more attractive living. Call it porch living. But in apartment complexes they offer a lot of incedentals.

If you really want a balcony I'd look into the highrises. They should have great views and you can afford them.

Are there any good property manager for duplexes/townhomes in the area? I think I've managed to track down most of the highrises that would work for me. Thanks so much for your help!

I am in a similar situation. I can't travel to Atlanta as much as I need to in order to check out a really good place. Any findings?

I ended up renting with Wesley Townsend and I've been really pleased so far. The managers are nice and go out of their way to be helpful (IE delivering packages while I'm at work, quick maintenance responses). It's close to where I work, and right off of Peachtree so it's easy to get between Buckhead, Midtown, and jump on the interstate. So far so good!
