This show is one of my most favorite cartoons of my childhood!! I really loved it, especially some of the darker episodes like the one dealing with AIDS, the one focusing on drug addiction and taking place in DC, the one with Hitler in it, the one where Gaia died and the Planeteers were elderly, and the one dealing with guns and inner-city racial tensions.

What I have seen of the show seems to always portray evil big business doing some egregious polluting and its up to the planeteers to stop him. So simplistic with a message deeply rooted in liberalism, like placing liberals squarely in the scientifically minded camp. Well, that depends on if the science squares with liberal dogma. Liberals embrace environmentalism and since global warming supports an environmental response, liberals are all for it. But if scientific research proffered a result that doesn't support a liberal dogma, you can be sure those behind it will be vilified. I bet most here embrace Global Warming because this could mean a radical shift to public transportation and more of the beloved streetcars and rapid transit.


Conservatives are more apt to embrace science as they wish to eschew decision making based on emotion which I think drives the liberals.
