This show is one of my most favorite cartoons of my childhood!! I really loved it, especially some of the darker episodes like the one dealing with AIDS, the one focusing on drug addiction and taking place in DC, the one with Hitler in it, the one where Gaia died and the Planeteers were elderly, and the one dealing with guns and inner-city racial tensions.

I'd like to see how they pontificated on those themes and where they laid blame.

I might be wrong assuming you are conservative, but tone points to it. Denial of science, anti-intellectualism and blind faith in illogical dogma are central to conservativism.
This.

My words are in bold.

Not happening. Supposedly we had past the point of no return and we were doomed.

But apparently not. And climate change is normal, it's been going on for eons.

"Plot idea: 97% of the world's scientists contrive an environmental crisis, but are exposed by a plucky band of billionaires & oil companies."
Scott Westerfeld

"In its simplest form, the argument for anthropogenic climate change goes as follows.

1. The Earth's atmosphere keeps the planet much warmer than it would be without an atmosphere.

2. The main gases which contribute to this are carbon dioxide, methane and water vapor.

3. Collectively these are called greenhouse gases.
The ability of these gases to act as greenhouse gases can be shown in a laboratory.

4. The quantity of these greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has increased sharply since the Industrial Revolution, and their concentration continues to do so.

5.The concentration of these gases has increased as a consequence of human activity.

6. The temperature of Earth's atmosphere has been increasing and continues to increase.

7. The increase in global temperature correlates with the increases of greenhouse gases.

8. The increase in temperature has been caused by the increase in greenhouse gases."

Rationalwiki's global warming portal contains cited arguments on every rebuttal that can be made, so no matter what response you come up with, you can go there, find the appropriate section and find out how you are wrong. Checkmate.

What I have seen of the show seems to always portray evil big business doing some egregious polluting and its up to the planeteers to stop him. So simplistic with a message deeply rooted in liberalism, like placing liberals squarely in the scientifically minded camp. Well, that depends on if the science squares with liberal dogma. Liberals embrace environmentalism and since global warming supports an environmental response, liberals are all for it. But if scientific research proffered a result that doesn't support a liberal dogma, you can be sure those behind it will be vilified. I bet most here embrace Global Warming because this could mean a radical shift to public transportation and more of the beloved streetcars and rapid transit.

Conservatives are more apt to embrace science as they wish to eschew decision making based on emotion which I think drives the liberals.

I see Captain Planet as propaganda. Carbon Dioxide is not a pollutant.
This is some sad ass "logic" right here people.
