I guess I should have clarified that... That's what all the people in my part of the state called it... LOL! We were country bumpkins according to them. (Although, I swear I've heard people in D.C. say I ride "THE Metro" too.)

I always felt saying "the MARTA" was a bit weird.

I cringe every time I hear someone say "the MARTA". However, it is quite common to hear people refer to MARTA rail service as "the train."
