Except Cobb's benefits a privately owned baseball stadium.

Mercy, cq. How much money do you think the state dumps into privately owned stadiums in the city of Atlanta?

Yeah, this is just more irrational hatred for the Braves exodus to Cobb.

Technically, none of the stadiums are privately owned.

The Dome is owned by the GWCC a state agency, but it get's used for more than just football. A baseball stadium is very multipurpose, unless hosting a hockey game or a CFB bowl game. Chick-Fil-A would shoot the bowl game idea down and it's not cold enough to host the winter classic.

For the next year, there are 27 events scheduled for the Dome.

Even if all they do at Suntrust Park is play baseball, there will still be 81 events per year.

I was speaking to the flexibility of the Dome/new falcons stadium.

Sure, it is flexible, but the fact remains that it won't see much use for most of the year. Concerts, by and large, will go to Philips, and, to a lesser extent, the Fox and Cobb Energy. Conventions and trade shows will be concentrated to the three excellent large convention centers the area already has (GWCC, the GICC and the Galleria). Once in a while, unfortunately, it will host the Final Four. (I'm glad to have the visitors to the city and the economic impact they have; I say "unfortunately" simply because I hate basketball being played in massive arenas like this... Sight lines are terrible for fans, and the cavernous surroundings have a detrimental impact on depth perception for players, leading to some pretty awful shooting percentages.)
