Crossing over near Spalding Drive shouldn't be a problem given that the existing rail structure north of North Springs is already elevated. Hope they stick to the HRT option.

It makes the most sense, but also the costliest.

Awesome. For those that truly know the area and the GA 400 corridor, you understand that it needs to be this way.

The concentration of stable, single-family neighborhoods does switch back and forth from the west to east back to west as you go north on 400. Conversely, the concentration of commercial/apartments also goes back forth as you go north: from east to west back to east.

The MARTA line should be constructed alongside the commercial/apartment areas--leaving the bucolic single-family neighborhoods intact.

Just scrap the already outdated 285/400 improvements and you have your money for it right there.

Better headline is "MARTA caves to whiny NIMBYs." Looking at Google, there is no particular reason to run the RoW on the West side from Spalding to "north of the river" except for a few whiny people that won't actually be affected and just want to cause havoc. The one slight advantage would be at Holcomb Bridge Rd where a west-side station would be closer to what looks to be a LOT of apartments, but fitting it in would be harder. There's no way the Northpoint station will be on the west-side so that's as far north as any crossover can be.
