Whole Foods looks to open flagship store in Midtown (Atlanta: condo, buying)

Big difference between "Whole Foods is coming" and "Whole Foods is coming to Midtown." It's 10 times harder to get major grocery stores into the urban core of our cities, so that's why it's worth mentioning.

I'd say that I hope it takes some of the strain off the store on Ponce, but I imagine by the time this one is open, many many more people will have moved in to make sure both stay packed.

Midtown doesn't have groceries? Publix, Whole foods, trader joes, and small Walmart at tech square.

There's no way. Do you have any idea how packed these stores are? And more people are moving to the area every minute.

Publix and Walmart(if you count that) yes. I'm speaking on more of the core of Midtown or Downtown where you be able to walk or take a train to a store. The current Whole Foods and Trader Joes are far enough away to where you'd need a car.

From the towers, maybe if that person is lazy or can't ride the 99 or 36 buses. But they are convenient to the SFH district.

Hopefully they don't subsidize drivers too much. Building expansive parking decks raises prices for everyone. If drivers feel they need free parking to live, there are plenty of other stores to choose from.

I mean for something like a grocery store where you will spend possibly 30+ min and have a ton of bags, it just makes sense imo to validate parking, have easy access to parking. I cant imagine having to carry a ton of bags a long distance in a parking deck or something.

I imagine it will be something like the Midtown publix garage setup. The one under the condos.
