More like a Cherokee/Douglass County salary.

Dude. This is Midtown Atlanta. It's going to be expensive to live there. You either have to accept that or do what most of us do, and that is to live somewhere cheaper.

Um, I don't recall sharing my salary; I just stated what I wanted to SPEND. And I don't imagine most Bankhead incomes allow for $200k homes. But whatever...

Be careful. "Atlanta" addresses extend outside the Atlanta city limits (e.g., 30339). Not that Vinings or Cumberland are bad places to live. Also, Cobb County will be a different experience than Fulton.

I've been 2br shopping and right now market is red hot; going under pending sales in a few days for nice looking ones. It is frustrating as I don't have time to schedule viewings except weekends

Don't really want a high rise; I actually prefer mid/low rise. There are some I'm now seeing under $200k, but they're either one bedroom, older and need renovation, or on the EDGE of Midtown; which I suppose is fine.

Midtown is the most expensive place to live outside of Buckhead and is morphing into the only true walkable, urban neighborhood for hundreds of miles around. It is a hot commodity. What ON EARTH do people expect???
