I'm so glad this was shot down

Senators defeated a floor amendment brought by Sen. Josh McKoon, R-Columbus, that would have extended the ban on driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants who have received “deferred action” on their legal status in America through an executive order issued by President Barack Obama.
McKoon said illegal immigration is costing Georgia $2.4 billion a year. He argued that illegal immigrants who have received deferred action under the president’s executive order still are not in this country lawfully and, thus, should not qualify for a driver’s license.
The amendment’s opponents countered that the children of illegal immigrants did not come to the U.S. willfully and that many are going to school or working and paying taxes.
“This is going after college students ... [and] members of the military who are not here because of any action of their own,” said Sen. Curt Thompson, D-Norcross.

I agree that the children really had nothing to do with it. They shouldn't be held back because of what their parents did. Much rather have them join society as educated taxpayers than people living underground so to speak.

So happy for this. So mean spirited of him. I know a lot of businesses are happy for the DACA recipients, as they are contributing to car sales, bank capital, etc.
