I am researching the best areas north Atlanta because I may have a job opportunity that would start in March. I am looking for the safest areas but also economically to live. I am looking for close stores, restaurants, and malls if that is possible. Can you tell me some good areas that are safe and diverse also?
Actually it would be the New American Express that will be in Lawrenceville. I don't know the address as the building is not finished yet. I am still in the interview process. Sorry it took while for me to respond!
That's okay. Lawrenceville is a suburb of Atlanta and you can find affordable housing in good areas. Downtown Lawrenceville is cute. If your work is there then I would try to find a house nearby.
Most of the rest of Lawrenceville is just subdivisions and housing. Shopping and stuff tends to be clustered - not easy to walk to.
I know moving to a new area and especially one so large can be a bit un-nerving! I happen to work for a Singles Events and Activities group for Atlanta and surrounding areas.
We organize up to 30 hosted activities a month. Our activities consist of sporting events, picnics, bowling, movies, happy hours, wine tastings, hiking, and many many others. It is a great way for single professionals to meet other single professionals in a safe and fun environment.
'm a single woman as well and was actually contemplating a stay at a Suburban Lodge in Duluth until I find employment and an apartment. Could you tell me a little bit about the area and if there are alot of companies hiring around the area?
Sorry it took so long. In my opinion I think it is a nice and quiet area. I live close to work so I don't have to worry about the highways during the week. I get alot of info from my co-workers on the best of this and the best of that. If you are looking for soul food, Duluth is definitely not the area for that. You will have to go closer in the city for that. This area is highly populated by Asian and Hispanic (Norcross). I like it because it is very diverse compared to Indiana. The markets are great for fresh fruits and food too.
It is sort of pricey if you don't have employment but the way the market is around here it shouldn't be hard to get a job around here I heard. It really depends on how much you are willing to spend until you found a job.
Hope this helps!
