What's your take on things these days? What are the upsides and downsides?

Thanks so much.

I'm kind of interested in this, too.

I know a couple of people betting big on Adair Park in anticipation of the Beltline....will that be enough to revitalize this neighborhood? Already heard reports of property crime from those I know that moved there. Sounds like it has quite a way to go, but I'm interested in thoughts.

I'm also interested in general thoughts on the Beltline. Seems like everybody is betting big on it, but will all 20+ miles of the Beltline be desirable? Seems to me there's a good chance there will be parts of the Beltline that are good, and others that you know to avoid. Is build it and they will come repeatable everywhere?

Same here, but I feel like the West End has the best opportunity, because of the retail store fronts available in the area. I'm on the fence about both areas, but I will be moving to either one once I run out of space in my condo.

The West End has had a PATH trail for several years, but it did not make a huge positive impact.

Do we have anyone here who lives in Adair park (or who is close to someone who lives there)?

I'd love to hear some firsthand reports.

I'm looking into the area as well. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any positive signs of big $ developers looking into developing any condos/apartments nearby or even retail or mixed use. This would be a very positive sign yet is hasn't occurred to my knowledge. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

I know of a local architect in Kirkwood who's company was looking into buying the school in Adair Park.

By the way, I should clarify that I meant Adair park in Atlanta rather than Adair Park in Decatur.

I would personally bet on the West End decades ahead of Adair Park. Closer to downtown, nicer, more historic housing stock, more established business district and community organizations. Adair Park is further south and across the tracks, more adjacent to Oakland City and perhaps the southern fringe of West End.

This is the most telling thing to me. They know more than me, and they aren't biting.

Or are they just waiting to see a trend and it just hasn't happened yet?

The area desperately needs a unique restauarnt/bar or two that will give people a reason to go down there. It would be a dream to do such a thing, but I don't even know where to start. Adair Park is bursting with potential.
