Between 2000 and 2013, Rockdale’s black population surged by 230 percent — from 12,733 to 41,957 — U.S. Census Bureau figures show. During the same time frame, the county saw the nation’s largest percentage-point drop in white residents at about 35 percentage points, according to a report released this year by the Pew Research Center in Washington. Nationwide among counties with at least 10,000 residents, Henry, Douglas and Gwinnett had the second-, third- and fourth-largest drops, respectively, as more blacks, Hispanics and Asians moved into the region...

50% of metro Atlanta is White, 32% is Black, Hispanic 10%, Asian 6%, and then everyone one else 2%

Then it is a good thing.Its more diversity.They said it will be "majority-minority".That includes more than just blacks.
from 2000-20010 the Chinese population grew 69.9%
For Asians as a whole during the same period it was 85%%
The Hispanic population has grown 103% from 2000-2011

Would you care to elaborate on why you personally do not think that the massive demographic shifts that are in progress in Georgia (particularly in metro Atlanta) are a good thing?

I personally have no opinion on the massive demographic shifts that are occurring within the state.

Though, I and many others do find these ongoing massive demographic shifts to be intensely fascinating.... Particularly since these massive demographic shifts seem to have happened in such a relatively short period of time in outlying suburban areas where many people thought that these type of demographic changes would never happen, especially so quickly.

Overall, whether or not people like these demographic shifts is irrelevant....That's because these demographic shifts are going to continue to occur whether people like them or not.

But only from the perspective that it's not good for one ethnic group or race to tribalize themselves to the extreme extent that they would wall themselves off from the rest of the human races.

A cultural siege mentality like that...is a breeding ground for perpetual strife and creates unnecessary conflict.

I have often wondered how such a race or ethnicity have evolved such a pernicious "quirk"...that would caused them to reflexively run away from or fight integrating with the rest of humanity.

Especially when human history and nature typically is that in which people from other parts of the world would meet and mix together.

The aforementioned "quirk" seems quite otherworldly and unearthly, if you ask me.

Well lets be honest its mostly SOME (but mainly)white people that do this.The data shows it.
However there does seem to be more diverity where there was none before.

I know this first hand because when I went to high school in my senior year at Morrow as was Clayton County was more than 70% white.
My neighborhood was about 90% white,Now Morrow is well over 70%black with a large Asian(mostly Vietnamese) and Hispanic population.
Not to mention even the black population has diversified as many are from African nations.

My neighborhood now since I moved back into the house my family still owns is now more than 60% black 15%white 10 percent Asian and 5% Hispanic .
I cna tell you its so much better.Many ethnic restaurants and shops from Thai to Vietnamese everywhere.
